Benefits of CNA Nursing

Getting into CNA nursing can be a very rewarding career for the right person.  Here are some benefits to getting into this as a career path and tips on finding out if you are the right person for the job.

Being a Certified Nursing Assistant nurse is a monetarily rewarding career path and it can be quite lucrative for the higher levels of responsibility in nursing.  Getting into CNA nursing as an assistant is a great way to get into this profession and to see if you like it.  If you do well, you can always go back to school and upgrade your skills to get a higher degree of responsibility and designation as a nurse.  Money isn’t everything, but it sure does help make a career enticing.

Another good reason for getting into CNA nursing is to find a sense of accomplishment from doing a good job and doing it well.  Taking care of others is rewarding in itself, especially if you are helping them to get better.  There is nothing more rewarding than helping a patient who was once very ill, gain strength, and walk out the door, discharged and healthy.

When you are a Certified Nursing Assistant, you have the option of being employed in pretty much any country.  Although each country has it’s own standards and levels of nursing designations, it is easy enough to get employment in the field if you have some sort of training. That is one of the great things about CNA nursing. You can travel and live in a country of your choice and find a job. Nurses are in demand worldwide.

Certified Nursing Assistant nursing is one of those jobs that will never go out of style. In 20, 50, even hundreds of years, there will still be a need for nurses. People will always become ill and require care. Disease will never be totally wiped out. This sounds negative, but it is actually a positive thing for those in the nursing workforce. Your job will always be in demand.

Now that you know the benefits of getting into CNA nursing, how do you know if you are the right person for the job?  How do you know if you have the right stuff to stick it out?

Being a nurse takes the right kind of personality.  Nurses don’t get paid well nothing.  They see a lot of sad situations.  Illness, sadness, and even death can be very depressing when witnessed on a daily basis.  Are you able to handle this?  Do you get personally involved in the cases of people that you come into contact with?  Nurses should be able to show caring and compassion to their patients, but at the same time be able to not take that work home with them at the end of the day.

Can you show empathy and compassion to people?  Do you truly care about a person’s plight other than your own?  Nurses must be compassionate and caring individuals who are selfless and interested in improving a patient’s situation.

Nurses are strong enough to handle the sight of blood and gore.  Really, cleaning up vomit and feces is a fact of life and someone has to do it.  Often this gets put onto a nurse to do, especially a CNA who is an assistant nurse.  If you can’t change a baby’s diaper, then you aren’t cut out to be a nurse.  What about changing dressings? Do you think you can handle the sight and stench of bloody wounds?  Think hard on what working in a nursing environment entails as nurse’s are put into these situations on a daily basis.
